Hi, I'm Abe.
A Brief History
I was born in 1982 and raised in Sheffield, Pennsylvania, a small town that nobody has ever heard of in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest. A truly beautiful place.
Enough of that history crap. Let's fast forward to now: I’m a scuba diving addict who loves traveling around the world, making cool photos of all the neat things I see.
The Photography Bug
I've always had a love for photography and have had too many point and shoot and superzoom cameras to count but it was in 2010 that I got my first "real" camera, a Canon EOS Rebel T1i.
I started out with the kit lens, just like everybody else, and it wasn't long before I had a collection of lenses, flashes, tripods, camera bags, and all the other accessories that come along with it. You'd never guess by looking at all of my gear that I'm actually a minimalist!
And Then Came Scuba
A friend of mine suggested that I get scuba certified and go dive with him, his wife, and the manta rays in Hawaii. I thought it sounded great but I didn't know how serious I was about following through. That is, until his wife sent me the link to Groupon with the deal for open water certification.
In 2011 I became open water certified and it took me less than 6 months to put scuba and photography together. I've been broke ever since.
I kid, I kid. It wasn't until 2013 that I started technical diving and all of my money actually disappeared ...
Diving is Life!
There is nothing that I'm more passionate about and there is no time that I feel more alive than when I'm beneath the waves with a camera in my hands.
To this day, I still get giddy with a smile that stretches from ear to ear right before I hop in the water. It doesn't matter if it's a cold, murky beach dive off the California coast or if I'm hitting the crystal clear, warm waters of Palau from a luxury live aboard dive boat.
